I've been concentrating only on moves for the past few weeks and with all the other summer activities going on in my life I have avoided any freestyle. It really shows. But, you have to start somewhere, so I drug myself to the rink for a morning freestyle session. My landing knee was really barking at me so I only captured some spins at the end of my session.

Congrats on passing your Silver! As for the freestyle practice...don't sweat it. Some days are good ice days and some days are bad ice days... Sorry about the knee. I know how you feel. I tweaked my landing knee today practicing salchows for my freestyle. Now I've got to rest it and be off the ice for a few days because I pushed myself too hard. Don't be like me :(
ReplyDeleteThank you! Those are the perils of adult skating!
ReplyDeleteTell me about it! Everyone in my life has now lectured me about "skating at my age" and how I should stop and just join a gym (as if I couldn't hurt myself there either). However, once I can bear down my full weight on the knee without pain, I will be back out on the ice. Took me 30 years to get back and I'm not leaving. I'll put blades on the bottom of my walker if I have to ;)
