Sunday Bruise Day

Spent the morning watching football.  Decided to skate at Frontier Ice Rink in the afternoon.  Got on the ice and promptly fell 10 minutes into the session doing back crossovers ... click-plop-slid-spin .... kind of looked like a break dance.  People came up to me to ask me if I needed help or was ok....

EMBARRASSING

The rest of the session (on bruised bum) was less than productive:

  1. You know what they say about a bad practice or a fall before an important skating test or competition - it's actually good luck. It helps you get all the nerves out before the big day. I usually take a hard fall on something like backward crossovers (happened 2 weeks ago) or mohawks. Just shake it off and consider it good luck! =)

  2. Ouch! I sympathize because I did the same thing last week - click of death on back crossovers, landed solidly on my knee. My landing knee, of course. Hope you heal quickly and best of luck on your test. From your videos, you look like you will have no trouble passing!

  3. I have to laugh when I see the videos played back. From a distance it all looks rather flowing and graceful - reality is I am so out of breath most of the time I can't finish 1 run through. As for the falling on my bum ... I HATE IT WHEN THAT HAPPENS
